Do this now
Complete this sentence: 'This project is about...' Now cut it in half. The half you keep is probably the real message. The half you cut was probably decoration.
Unpack
Most student projects try to say too many things at once, which means they end up saying nothing clearly. One idea, communicated well, is always more powerful than three ideas competing for attention. The test: if someone looks at your work for five seconds, what do they take away?
Draw it.
