The deck · 7 stages

A practical deck for making sense of design problems.

Pick a card when you feel stuck, uncertain, or need a different way forward.

The cards are designed to help you slow down, think clearly and make more intentional design decisions.

They are not a checklist and you do not need to use them in order.

Choose the section that matches where you are in the project, use one or two prompts, then return to making.

Think · question · explore · choose · make · reflect

Start wherever you need help.

If you are unsure what the project is asking, begin with Core.

If your ideas feel obvious or stuck, move to Explore.

Other sections help you find insight, shape a story, strengthen visual communication, use rhetoric and reflect on your decisions.

You can return to any card as the project develops.

Use AI as a tool, not a shortcut for thinking.

Use the cards to help you:

question · compare · explore · select · refine

AI can generate options quickly. You still need to decide what is relevant, meaningful and appropriate for the project.

You are responsible for the decisions you keep.

The aim is not to get to an answer faster.

It is to make better sense of the problem before deciding what to do next.

The tool can generate. The designer still has to understand, question, choose, communicate, test and take responsibility.
